What to expect from your first appointment
During your initial consultation, your clinical psychologist will spend some time talking to the family unit together before spending time with individual family members. Your psychologist may then spend some time getting to know your child to understand their worries and concerns.
The final part of your session is spent discussing your concerns in more detail and obtaining a developmental and family history. At the end of the appointment, your clinical psychologist will recommend a therapy approach suitable for your family.
Depending on your needs, subsequent therapy sessions will typically last for 50 minutes.
