DR CLAIR LAWSON Clinical Psychologist

Dr Clair Lawson

I’m Dr Clair Lawson, the founder and Director of Lawson Clinical Psychology. I started LCP over 16 years ago because I wanted to create a practice where clinicians could do meaningful, evidence-based work and feel safe, supported and proud of what they achieve.

What began as one small clinic has grown into a group of practices, including services in remote communities. But for me, it’s not about size or numbers. It’s about the people. It’s about the culture we’ve built together and the way we show up for each other and our clients every day. When clinicians feel valued and connected, great care follows. That’s what really matters.

People describe me as direct, fair and transparent. I believe in being clear and honest, working together, and creating a space where people can do their best work without unnecessary stress. I care deeply about building a team that strives for excellence because they believe in what we’re doing.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me planning my next trip, baking something messy or being followed around by my cat, Ziggy.

Making the decision to see a psychologist can feel daunting, but as the saying goes, “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Together, we’ll take one step at a time, working on what’s important to you, at a pace that feels right for you.

I’m Sonja, a Senior Clinical Psychologist who has worked with adults for over 20 years. I support clients who have difficult family patterns, trauma, anxiety, stress, low mood, and that feeling of being “not good enough.” Together, we’ll explore how things came to be, break free from unhelpful patterns, and take meaningful steps toward emotional wellness and a more fulfilling life.

Clients describe my approach as warm, open, non-judgemental, and compassionate. I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches to find the right fit for them. Approaches include EMDR, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

I’m also passionate about mentoring and supervising early-career and experienced psychologists, and value the opportunity to give back to the profession.

When I’m not with clients, you’ll find me snorkelling, walking in nature, or trying out new recipes.

Rebecca Jamieson

Hi, I’m Rebecca, a compassionate and collaborative Senior Clinical Psychologist who works with children, teens, adults, couples, and families.

I support clients experiencing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, emotion regulation difficulties (such as self-harm and suicidal ideation), adjustment issues, parent–child attachment concerns, parenting difficulties, and relationship challenges.

My strength is tailoring therapy to each person’s needs, drawing on a variety of evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Systemic Therapy, and Attachment-Based Therapies.

Alongside my clinical work, I’m also a board-approved supervisor and love supporting other psychologists through individual and group supervision. When I’m not working, you’ll find me at the beach, lost in a good book, travelling and exploring Western Australia (and beyond), or unwinding with some guilty-pleasure trash TV.

Lots of clients come to therapy knowing they want to feel differently, but not knowing what they want to work on. It’s ok not to know—we can work that out together!

I’m Emily (She/Her), a senior clinical psychologist, helping teens and adults to not only reduce the not-so-good stuff they’re feeling, but get more of what they want in life. I work with clients who want to trust their own judgment and find freedom from relationship and family patterns.

With six years’ experience in private practice, I’ve worked with clients feeling down, anxious, experiencing relationship or family issues, exploring neurodivergence, sexuality and or gender identity, people impacted by trauma, and those experiencing or recovering from family and domestic violence.

Clients often say that I am quiet, calm, and gentle, offering space to reflect. I bring a warm, playful, and transparent approach to therapy and don’t shy away from being direct when needed.

In therapy, expect deep conversations, experiential activities like chair work and imagery rescripting, and collaborative whiteboard sessions to map things out.

Outside of sessions, I love planning my latest nail set, eating pastries, swimming at the beach, watching early-morning Rage with my daughter, and drinking very good coffee.

Making the decision to start therapy can take time. It’s normal to feel uncertain about where to begin. You may have a clear goal for therapy, or perhaps just feel that you would like things to be different.

I’m Chloe, a clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults. The people I work with are struggling with anxiety, stress, perfectionism, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, and interpersonal difficulties.

In my work, I enjoy collaborating with clients and shape therapy to people’s individual needs. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy to support meaningful change.

It’s important for me to understand the research underlying psychology so that I can bring these insights into my therapeutic work. Alongside clinical practice, I also work as a researcher, and I completed a PhD exploring the relationships between social anxiety, shyness, autistic-like traits, and face recognition.

We all have different parts of ourselves that shape how we think, feel, and behave. Sometimes these parts work together, but other times they pull us in different directions, leaving us stuck or overwhelmed.

I’m Sophia, a Clinical Psychologist who helps adolescents and adults navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence.

I understand how consuming struggles like anxiety, low mood, self-criticism, perfectionism, worry, self-esteem issues, stress, and relationship difficulties can be. With a deep appreciation for the complexities of human experience, I work with clients to explore the parts of self and the patterns—thinking, behavioural, and relational—that keep them stuck.

Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, trauma-informed care, and Schema Therapy, I create a warm, collaborative space where clients feel supported to challenge, reframe, and shift unhelpful patterns, building skills that lead to lasting change.

My approach helps create self-compassion, emotional flexibility, and a sense of balance—so that you take meaningful steps toward the life you want.

Above all, I want you to feel truly heard, valued, and empowered.

Whenever I meet a new client, I always get the same feeling: a deep respect and a quiet hopefulness that one day you will see what I see, someone who is far more capable and powerful than they give themselves credit for.

Hi, I’m Jane — a human, an explorer, a nurturer, a clinical psychologist, and I can’t wait to meet you.

I have had the privilege of working with many clients from diverse walks of life. Hearing your stories, sharing your pain, and seeing your growth has been profoundly humbling and has deepened my sense of purpose in helping you find yours. The journeys we take in therapy are not easy or pain-free, and often come with bumps, scrapes, and tears — but the destination is a place of acceptance, confidence, and understanding. Believe it or not, you have already started, and the first steps are the hardest. But you are not alone. I’ve got your back.

My backyard is the Kimberley Region of WA. Chasing waterfalls with my little crew of humans is our way of beating the heat and celebrating this incredible part of the world.

It’s not always easy opening up to someone new, especially with things you might never have said out loud before. Past experiences can sometimes also leave you feeling unsure or even disheartened about reaching out again.

I’m Patrick, a Clinical Psychologist who works with adolescents and adults. My aim is to offer a warm, respectful, and non-judgemental space where you feel safe to explore what’s going on in your life. Clients often reflect that they feel nervous walking into their first session, but noticeably lighter and more hopeful on leaving.

I work collaboratively to help people better understand themselves and the patterns that might be keeping them stuck. From there, we’ll develop strategies that genuinely work for you. I tailor my approach to each client’s individual strengths and needs, and use evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Beyond my clinical practice, I’m an Associate Professor at Curtin University, where I train future psychologists and lead research focused on anxiety and mental health.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me out in nature, soaking up the beauty of Western Australia with my family and our dog.

The foundation of healing begins with a safe connection.

My role is to offer a secure, grounded, and non-judgemental space where you can slow down, explore your emotional landscape, and make sense of your unique story. I believe the most powerful changes emerge from a truly collaborative relationship built on trust and gentle curiosity, especially when navigating feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, or past experiences.

I am Michelle, a Clinical Psychologist Registrar. My therapeutic approach is centered on empowering you with skills for lasting change. My core modalities include Schema Therapy (for restructuring long-standing emotional patterns), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Approaches (for emotional regulation and awareness), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). It is natural to feel apprehensive about speaking with someone you have never met about very personal challenges you are facing. My goals while working with you are to help you feel comfortable and safe about opening up and to work at your pace on issues that are important to you.

I’m Josh, a Clinical Psychologist who works with adults. My clinical experience over the past 23 years is very broad as I have resisted the urge to specialise in certain challenges, however I have developed some interest areas that I am passionate about. My work with adults has included assisting them to deal with relationship difficulties, all types of anxiety, depression, bipolar, work stress, friendship difficulties, ADHD, autism, schizophrenia, work related challenges, trauma, significant life events, life stress, a life changing medical diagnosis, and parenting.

I use an eclectic approach drawing mainly from ACT, CBT, Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, and Transactional Analysis to achieve powerful outcomes for my clients. I would describe my therapeutic style as highly relational and warm, with a good dose of humour at times yet directive and clear when you need me to be. In fact, clients often comment that they feel they can tell me anything which allows us to work more directly and effectively on what really matters.

In my spare time, you will find me walking my border collie, spending time with family and friends, or at the beach.
